Talent

I know people don’t mean any harm when they say it, but I really hate it when people tell me I’m very talented. First of all, I don’t think I have any innate talent for drawing. In fact, I have a hard time creating something I like, and I always try to stick to what I feel comfortable with. When I see other artists, I feel like their lines are much more interesting or that they have better skills. But second, and most importantly, even if that innate talent existed, it would never be enough or definitive, and ultimately, that comment undermines the thousands of hours of work that go into every single drawing.
