Lines of Life

The crowdfunding campaign for this book was successful.

It seems like yesterday when, without much conviction and with nothing to lose, I started my first crowdfunding: Love Yourself. With many doubts and fears, which faded away as people responded positively. The experience was intense, exhausting and, apparently, addictive because soon came a second one, Liquid Times, with which I could enjoy more due to the accumulated experience, minimizing mistakes. It was followed by a third one, Empordà NU, very suffered and that made me value and put into perspective the first two. The fourth, of two projects at the same time, Lust and Le Beau Trait, had a massive response and was followed by a fifth, Vulvae, very different as it focused on a single theme. The latter, for the moment, makes the sixth from which two more books, Lines of Life and Labia, have emerged. Six crowdfundings with which I have been able to edit eight books. Without a doubt the thing I am most proud of since I started this adventure.

Lines of Life is probably the project in which I bare the most, in the less literal sense of the expression. Just as drawing comes naturally to me, both in good times and bad, writing is more difficult and I need to be mentally ready. The texts that accompany these drawings have been written at a peak moment, when I have finished a work or when I have felt the need to empty myself because of some experience related to the person portrayed. Some are more personal, about my relationship with that person, and others more general, about creativity, inspiration, art…, but they all come from the soul.
I wanted to include the texts, also, in my mother tongue to give it value and because it is how I express myself better. 

The structure of the project is not very clear. You will see that the drawing-text combination is repeated in one sheet and drawings without text in another sheet. Some sheets have a unity and others do not. I have been guided by my instinct and my aesthetic sense, mixing the different techniques
I usually use, although sometimes I have felt like focusing on one. I am square and chaotic at the same time and a book about my art should be too.

A year of work compiled in just over one hundred and twenty pages that would not have been possible without your support. Lines of life that show paths of freedom.
