The crowdfunding campaign for this book was successful.
In addition to the compilations of my art and my photographic projects, I am passionate, from time to time, to dedicate myself to a project focused on the same element and explore all its possibilities. The first of these was Vulvae, a book about the vulva made up of 42 watercolors, where I gave voice to the feminine vision of this sexual organ through texts written by women dealing with personal experiences, poetic and vindictive visions. At the time I thought it would be an isolated project, but I enjoyed it very much and I was immediately curious to continue with another similar work.
The mouth is a recurring theme in my drawings. We show it shamelessly, we use it to communicate, to eat, to smoke… and at the same time to kiss passionately and have sex. This apparent contradiction attracted my attention. Little by little, the idea that this would be the central theme of the next project materialized and, although at first I saw it very far away, inside me I already knew that the choice had been made.
Even so, collecting mouths without any order or criteria seemed to me to be of little interest and I wanted to take advantage of it to talk about something else. With this premise as a starting point, complementing the 43 drawings, this project has allowed me to talk about physiological aspects, such as the function of saliva and the tongue, sexual philias, such as belonephilia or the attraction to knives, or simply talk about sexuality in general, among other topics. Scientific and descriptive texts are combined with more poetic ones, such as short stories or personal experiences.
A personal and intimate journey through art. A simple and close path, entrance and exit to a unique world.
